UI/UX Design

UI/UX design that survives the trip into code.

Our designers sit with the engineers who build their work. That keeps designs honest about what is feasible, and keeps the finished product looking like the prototype you signed off.

Most design problems are found too late.

A confusing flow costs almost nothing to fix in a prototype and a great deal to fix after launch. Yet design is often compressed into a week of mock-ups so the building can start.

We test the risky parts of a product with real users before code is written, and design the empty, loading and error states alongside the happy path, because that is where products feel unfinished.

Included

  • User research, journey mapping and information architecture
  • Wireframes and clickable prototypes tested with real users
  • A component-based design system with tokens for light and dark themes
  • Developer handoff with states, edge cases and accessibility notes covered

What you end up with

Tested flows, a documented design system and developer-ready specifications, so what gets built matches what was approved.

The difference

Mock-ups vs. product design

Both produce attractive screens. Only one produces something that can be built and maintained.

Mock-ups

  • A screen for every page, each drawn separately
  • Only the ideal state: full data, no errors
  • Looks approved by stakeholders, never tried by users
  • Colour and spacing chosen by eye, screen by screen
  • Thrown over a wall to engineering

Product design

  • A system of components that compose into any screen
  • Empty, loading, error and permission states designed
  • Core flows tested on real users before build
  • Tokens for colour, type and spacing shared with code
  • Designers reviewing builds through to release

What we build

Design engagements

Run on their own or as the first phase of a build.

  1. Product design from zero

Research through to a tested prototype and a design system for a new product, ready for engineering.

  2. UX audit and redesign

A heuristic and analytics review of an existing product, followed by a prioritised redesign of the flows losing you users.

  3. Design systems

Tokens, components and documentation that give a growing product one consistent language across web and mobile.

  4. Prototypes for validation

A realistic clickable prototype for user testing or fundraising, before committing to a build budget.

Process

How the work runs, phase by phase.

Each phase ends with something you can see, use or sign off.

  1. Research

Stakeholder and user interviews, analytics and a review of what competitors get right and wrong.

  2. Structure

Journeys, information architecture and low-fidelity wireframes that settle what goes where before anything is styled.

  3. Prototype and test

A clickable prototype of the core flows, put in front of real users. What confuses them gets fixed while it is still cheap.

  4. Visual design and system

Brand-aligned interface design built as tokens and reusable components, in light and dark.

  5. Handoff and review

Annotated specifications, then design review of the actual builds until the product ships.

Timelines

How long it usually takes.

Typical ranges for well-scoped work. Discovery comes first and produces a fixed quote and a date.

UX audit

1–2 weeks

Findings ranked by impact, with redesign recommendations.

Prototype sprint

2–3 weeks

Tested clickable prototype of the core flows.

Full product design

4–8 weeks

Research, flows, visual design and a documented system.

Case studies

Where we have done this before.

A bright, empty clinic reception desk

Healthcare

Replacing three tools with one booking platform

Scheduling, reminders and payments lived in three disconnected systems, and reconciling them was somebody's entire Friday.

No-shows reduced by automated reminders

Industries

Sectors where this comes up most.

A team's laptops, phones and notebooks spread across a shared table, seen from above

SaaS & Startups

From the first prototype to a platform that holds up under growth: a senior team for founders without one yet.

Hands typing on a laptop beside a stethoscope

Healthcare

Telemedicine, patient portals and clinical tools built around real workflows and a privacy-first architecture.

A customer and a shopkeeper at a point-of-sale tablet

Retail & E-Commerce

Storefronts, apps and back-office tooling that load fast, convert and stay in sync with inventory.

FAQ

UI/UX Design: common questions.

Can we hire you for design only?

Yes. Design engagements stand on their own, and the handoff is written so any competent engineering team can build from it, including yours.

Do you test designs with real users?

Yes. Even five short sessions on a prototype expose most of the serious usability problems, and it is the cheapest point in a project to find them.

Will you work with our existing brand?

Yes. We extend your brand into a product interface rather than replacing it. If you do not have brand guidelines yet, we establish enough of a visual language to build on.

What do engineers actually receive?

Figma files organised by flow, a component library with every state, design tokens that map to code, and notes on behaviour, responsiveness and accessibility.

Do you design for accessibility?

Yes. Contrast, focus order, target sizes and screen-reader behaviour are considered during design, which is far cheaper than fixing them after an audit.

Have something that needs building?

Tell us the problem in a few sentences. We will reply within one business day with an honest read on scope, cost and whether we are the right team for it.
